Abigail Marie Clancy Bio
Abigail Marie Clancy (born 10 January 1986) is an English catwalk model and lingerie model and TV model and TV. She was the second-place winner of Britain's Next Top Model (cycle 2 in 2006) and she was the winner of series 11 on Strictly Come Dancing (2013). Since 2015, she has been Britain’s Next Top Model. Clancy was born in Liverpool. She is the second oldest child of four siblings, Karen (nee Sullivan), Geoffrey Thomas Clancy. Clancy was raised in Woolton which is a suburb of Liverpool and was a student at St Mary's Primary School and St Julie's Catholic High School. Clancy formed the girl band Genie Queen and was managed by Andy McCluskey, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. Clancy was among thirteen finalist for Living TV's Britain’s Next Top Model's second cycle in 2006. The contest lasted for 10 weeks to win an opportunity to model. Clancy, along with another contestant Lianna Foller was selected to appear on the final runway show. Clancy eventually became the runner up. Clancy was featured on Britain's Next Top Model and has since modelled for several newspapers and magazines. Clancy was the model of the Triumph Bonneville Motorbike on the May 2007 cover of Arena magazine. Clancy was selected to be featured in the swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated 2010. Clancy was chosen because of her sporting relationship to Peter Crouch. Clancy was photographed for the magazine in only body paint to make it seem like she was wearing the England shirt. Yu Tsai took the photos. Clancy was included in Umbro's campaign for 2010. She wore the England shirt, and was joined by other women of the winning teams. Clancy was a model in Giles Deacon's ready-to-wear Giles Spring 2011 line. In March 2011, Clancy was featured on Elite Model Management: New York division's website. In July 2013, she appeared as part of London designer Hasan Hejazi's campaign, in a fashion editorial written by Absynth Photographic and the fashion film of Gabriel Gettman. Clancy was also a model for the August 2011 cover of UK Esquire shot by photographer Solve Sundsbo. In December 2013, Clancy was included in LOVE magazine's Advent Calendar alongside Suki Waterhouse and Cara Delevingne. In July 2014, Clancy appeared on the cover of British Marie Claire and in March 2015, she was featured in British Elle. Abbey Clancy, along with her daughter Sophia Crouch, collaborated in October 2019 with Lipsy, a London-based fashion brand, to introduce their AW'19 line. The AW'19 collection was officially launched in the UAE in January 2020.
